
		Install and Update instructions for RMS Express

DO NOT RUN BACK REVS...THERE IS NO SUPPORT AND THERE MAY BE INCOMPATIBILITIES.

RMS Express now provides useful propagation predictions for connecting to RMS WINMOR servers. This requires the ITSHF (also known as ICEPAC or VOACAP) propagation predicition program.  This can be downloaded free from:

ITSHF is sensitive to directory names and should be installed in its default directory C:\ITSHFBC for proper operation with RMS Express.




*************If this is a new install of RMS Express follow these instructions:****************************

1) Save the zip file containing the RMS Express install to a temp directory and unzip.
2) Double click on the RMS Express Setup.msifile  that was extracted from the zip file. That should start the installation process.
3) If your computer does not have the Propagation prediction suite ITSHF it must be installed to get the RMS Express propagation predictor to work. This MUST be installed in the default directory: C:\ITSHFBC.  You can download the free program from http://www.greg-hand.com/hfwin32.html
4) After installation of BOTH RMS Express and ITSHF start RMS Express.exein the RMS Express directory.

Follow the setup instructions as per the Help. The help contains material that will answer most installation and operational questions. Use the Help Index or Contents sections to locate specific regions of the help.  The WINMOR Primer by Dr. Fred Hambrecht is also an excellent source of help for those just getting started with WINMOR.



********If you already have a RMS Express version prior to 0.5.4.0 installed on your computer use these instructions:*********

1) Uninstall RMS Express 
2) Rename the RMS Express.ini file in the RMS Express directory to RMS Express.old.ini
**********IF YOU DON'T DO THIS YOU MAY LOOSE YOUR REGISTRATION KEY *******************

3) Open RMS Express.old.ini with note pad or word padyou may need to be able to read the contents during the new setup.
************ WRITE DOWN YOUR CALL SIGN AND REGISTRATION KEY IF REGISTERED AND KEEP IN A SAFE PLACE ***************

7) After installation of BOTH RMS Express and ITSHF start RMS Express.exe in the RMS Express directory.

*********** If you are manually updating a revision after 0.5.0.0 with an .exe patch do this ****************************

1) Shut down RMS Express
2) Unzip the RMS Express Patch.zip and place the files into the RMS Express directory (same directory as the RMS Express.exe). Over write all files with the same name as the new files.
3) Restart RMS Express.
